Bartonville, IL - The Washington Lady Panthers came into Bartonville winless in the Mid-Illini Conference looking to put one in the win column. "We needed to get a win here in the Conference," stated Panther's Head Coach Randy Marchand.

Led by Jaymi Holloman's career high 21 points, a balanced scoring attack and solid defense, the Panthers did not disappoint with a 60-43 victory. "It was a great team win," Holloman said. "Recently, I've been struggling and this was a very good game to get back into it."

Washington led at the half 32-23 with eight points each from Holloman, Lexie Grayer and Sara Ohlman. "The key was balanced scoring," Marchand said.

Limestone closed to within five at the four-minute mark in the third quarter on a pair of free throws from Natecia Augusta. But Augusta had picked up a technical foul that sent Holloman to the line for a pair making the score 36-29 Panthers.

Holloman had the hot hand down the stretch with 13-second half points. Sara Ohlman checked in with 15 points, including three treys and Lexie Grayer had 14 for the game.

The Lady Rockets got another solid game from Natecia Augusta with 23 points. Loren Heiser had eight with two threes for Limestone.

The Panthers, 6-3 overall, 1-3 in the Mid-Illini, meet up with Central next in a rescheduled game before appearing in the post-Christmas Manual Holiday Tournament. Limestone takes a 4-5 overall, 1-3 conference, record to the Manual Holiday tournament.

East Peoria, IL - East Peoria capitalized on the Rocket's zone defense and put up thirteen threes in a 61-56 victory in East Peoria in Mid-Illini Conference play Friday night. The Raider's Carrie Myers and Erica Harper combined for eleven threes, scoring 22 and 15 total points, respectively.

The Raiders got off to a slow start, but ignited their offense in the second quarter and led at the half, 25-22 on four threes from Harper before the break.

Carrie Myers and Emily Brown opened up the scoring in the second half with back-to-back threes. But the Rockets were able to scratch their way back to a three-point deficit (46-43) at the close of the third quarter.

With 4:38 left in the fourth quarter, Limestone's Cierra Braggs came off the bench to score the Rocket's only trey and tied the game at 50 all. But Erica Harper's work from beyond the arc wasn't done yet and she put up back-to-back threes to give the Raiders the lead at 59-51 with 3:36 left in the game.

After a Natecia Augusta free throw, holding a seven-point lead, East Peoria went into clock management mode and controlled the ball for over two minutes, eventually forcing Limestone to foul. With :15.9 left, Augusta fouled Sydney Marshall, sending her to the line for a one and bonus. Marshall made both shots for a 61-54 lead.

Limestone scored a field goal off the made free throws to get back to within five at 61-56. East Peoria just held the ball in the closing seconds for the win and a 1-1 record in the Mid-Illini and a 4-2 record overall. Myers led East Peoria's scoring with 22, including six threes.

Natecia Augusta topped the Rocket's scoring with 25. Limestone is 1-1 in the conference and 4-3 overall.
